NO WE WONT? THE STORM'S HERE!
I hate to say it, but I told you so! Too bad some tried to shoot the messenger. Figuratively, of course. Several months ago I published two articles, "YES WE CAN, NO WE WONT!" and "CONGRESSIONAL DERANGEMENT SYNDROM EXPOSED." Both articles drove the Progressives in Broward County nuts. At least one elected official was disturbed by the articles. You can guess who. To quote the YES WE CAN" article: "Democrats in Congress insist that the public wants their plan. No they don't. National polling says no, and these are the very same polling organizations that pointed to Obama's win." "Which means one thing: If Congress forces a plan down our collective throats, what happened to Congress during Clinton's first mid term will pale in comparison." The Gubernatorial losses in New Jersey and Virginia were sloughed off as "meaningless." The Tea Party movement was ms-characterized as Teabaggers, thugs, astroturf and worse. Most of Congress refused to meet face to face with constituents, slandered those who they did meet with or loaded their audiences either by closed "town hall" meetings or stacked teleconferences. Take the blinders off folks! The GOP win in Massachusetts is only the beginning. November is already going to be a disaster for Democrats. If Congress insists on shoving the health care plan down our throats, November will yield a lopsided Republican Congress. It may already be too late no matter what Congress does. As I said: "At least one of us cares enough to fight the system and keep the debate honest." Here's my prediction for November: DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE BACKLASH... Say goodbye to Harry Reid, Ben Nelson, Mary Landrieu and Alan Grayson. I think many more in Congress will choose to 'retire' rather than run and face defeat. Nancy Pelosi's guaranteed seat isn't so safe right now. Ron Klein is in serious jeopardy. Robert Wexler's seat will go Republican. Debbie, I think, is safe for the moment. However, if this arrogance continues and Congress does go Republican, they WILL go after her in 2012. The Senate seat will go to Marco Rubio, and probably take the Governor's office Republican, too. Pardon me, but will the REAL JFK Democrats please stand up and be counted? We need you!
Time to restore this country to the ideals of Jefferson and Adams...
